History

Thule was the third and final Svea-class coast defense ship, launched 4 March, 1893. 79.5 meters (260.8 feet) long, Thule was capable of 16 knots, and carried a crew of 252. Armament consisted of a pair of 25cm (10") guns in a single turret forward, four 15cm (6") guns, six 5.7cm (2.2") guns, and three 38cm (15") torpedo tubes. Due to Sweden's neutrality, Thule never engaged in combat, and was paid off in 1923 or '28, and scrapped in 1933.
