History

The RSS Resilience (82) was a Fearless-class patrol vessel, home built for the Singapore Navy. Launched 23 November, 1996, Resilience commissioned 7 February, 1998. Displacing 500 tons, and with a length of 55m (180'5"), Resilience packed a heavy punch for her size. She mounted the Mistral surface-to-air missile, four 12.7mm (0.5") machine guns, and an OTO Melara 76mm gun in a bow turret, although she was the first of her class to omit the EuroTorp A244/S torpedoes. Resilience had a top speed "in excess of 20 knots," achieved from two diesel engines powering water jets. The diesels also gave her a cruise range of 1,000 nautical miles. Resilience decommissioned 19 July, 2018, with her fate not yet known.
