History

Lead ship of a six destroyer class, Indomito was launched 10 May, 1912, entering service in 1913. Armed with a 120mm (4.7")/40 and four 76mm (3")/40 guns, and two 450mm (17.7") torpedo tubes, she was capable of 35.79 knots, nearly six faster than her design speed. A 1,200 nautical mile cruise range was more than sufficient for the Mediterranean, and she saw limited action in that theater during World War I. Indomito was reclassified as a torpedo boat in 1929, but was decommissioned and subsequently sold for scrap in 1937.
