History

Laid down in 1910, the Italian Indomito-class destroyer Impetuoso was launched 23 July, 1913, and commissioned the following year. Armed with one 120mm (4.7") and four 76mm (3") guns, and two 450mm (17.7") torpedo tubes, her top speed was an impressive 35.79 knots: nearly six knots faster than her design speed. Impetuoso saw action in World War I, after Italy joined in 1915, until she was sunk 10 July, 1916, by Austrian submarine SM U-17.
