HS Limnos (F451) is an Eli-class frigate operated by the Hellenic Navy. Laid down in 1978, she was built in the Netherlands as a modified design of the Kortenaer-class, with a lengthened hangar, and modified weapons loadout. Limnos commissioned 18 September, 1982, and has been a frequent participant in UN and NATO operations, besides the Greeks' own operations. Limnos packs a sizeable punch, with two 76mm (3") guns, two quad launchers for the Harpoon missile, the RIM-7M surface-to-air missile, two 20mm Phalanx CIWS, and two twin torpedo tubes for the Mk 46 torpedo. Her hangar can support one S-70B-6 Aegean Hawk, or two AB-212 anti-submarine helicopters.
