History
USS Reybold (DE-275) was an Evarts-class destroyer escort, laid down 20 May, 1943. Completed in October, she was transferred to the Royal Navy before commissioning, and renamed HMS Goodall (K479). Goodall spent the War on convoy duty in the Atlantic, and the Arctic. She was torpedoed 29 April, 1945, by U-286 (subsequently sunk by other escorts), which detonated her magazine, killing ninety-five of her crew. Goodall was scuttled, becoming the last British warship sunk in the European Theater of World War II.
