History

Kormoran (S70) is an Albatross-class fast attack craft. Built for Germany, she commissioned 18 July, 1977. She was armed with two OTO-Melara 76mm (3") guns, four Exocet missiles, and a pair of 533mm (21") torpedo tubes. Top speed is 40 knots, with a range of 1,300 nautical miles, and a crew of forty. Kormoran operated with 7. Schnellbootgeschwader out of Warnemünde, until she was decommissioned in 2005. Kormoran and five of her sisters were sold to Tunisia, albeit, without the Exocet launchers. Renamed Giscon (510), she is still in service, and now has the capability of laying mines.
