Almirante Juan de Borbón (F-102) is a Spanish F 100 class air defense frigate. Commissioned 3 December, 2003, she displaces 6,400 tons and is 146.7m (481 feet) long with a top speed of 28.5 knots. Equipped with the American Aegis defense network, Juan has a serious AA punch, carrying ninety-six SM-2 and RIM-162 surface-to-air missiles. She also can engage in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, with eight Harpoon missiles and four triple torpedo tubes. A 5"/54 (127mm) dual purpose gun rounds out the armament, with point defense handled by a pair of FABA 20mm/120 CIWS. Juan can also carry a single SH-60B Seahawk helicopter.
