History

KRI Fatahillah (361) is the lead ship of three Indonesian corvettes. Commissioned 16 July, 1979, she displaces 1,450 tons, but has a solid armament. A 120mm (4.9") Bofors gun packs the main punch, with an additional 40mm Bofors and two Rheinmetall Rh 202 20mm guns, with a twin ASROC launcher, and two triple torpedo tubes. Fatahillah used to carry four Exocet anti-shipping missiles, but these are believed to have been removed in 2013, during a modernization refit. This same refit updated her electronics systems. Fatahillah was part of the search team for Adam Air Flight 574 when it crashed in 2007.
